Andrew M. Cavallo

I began playing guitar at age nine. From the beginning, however, I found myself less occupied with learning the music of others than with writing my own; and by the age of fifteen I was regularly composing and recording instrumental guitar works. I sent one such recording to Berklee College of Music, where I was admitted on scholarship and studied for a time under the instruction of Joe Stump.

My own compositions, which differ rather dramatically from mainstream electric guitar music, draw much of their inspiration from what is commonly called early music, by which I mean the music of the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods.

I also have a background in mathematics and philosophy.
